IRC offered help following a train crash near Watford.
Two trains, one empty and one carrying commuters collided.
Initial reports indicated approx 60 persons trapped.
Hertfordshire Police accepted the offer of a small team with lighting, cutting and search equipment.
The team were on site for approx 6.5 hours and supplied lights for that time.
