At the team briefing the following information was given out.

The missing child was called James Barker and was aged 5.  He was wearing a lime green pair of shorts, navy t-shirt and was bare footed.  He had a stud in his left ear.

He went missing at 1215 on the 13th August 2000.

The original search area covered the beach and sand dunes up and down from Brancaster.

The team was split into 2 sections for line searching.

Willie McMartin, Mark Aldridge and Jim Livingstone used a small Redcrest boat to search the small rivulets at low tide.

The search started at 1120 and the team was stood down at 1800.

UPDATE

The body was found on the 16th August 2000.
