27th March
1500 hrs – A formal request was made to IRC by Mr David Grant of ScotRail to help to locate a deep seated fire in an embankment with a Thermal Image Camera.
1515 hrs – Transport of the camera was arranged.
1527 hrs – Arrangements to meet Bob Gardiner were formalised.
28th March
1000 hrs – On site at Seven Arches, Newbridge. A survey of the fire site and half a mile of embankment was carried out.
1430 hrs – A site meeting was held and IRC received a request for further assistance from ScotRail.
3rd April
0930 hrs – On site at Seven Arches. A further survey of the fire site, Ratho Junction, Manual Junction, Bo’ness Junction and Linlithgow viaduct were carried out.
1530 hrs – With the fire now completely extinguished the team were stood down.
