As in previous years, IRC will have a presence within the Road Safety Village at the Royal Highland Show 19th – 22nd June.
The “Village”, is dedicated to trying to reduce deaths and injury at road traffic collisions and will showcase all aspects of road safety.
The Village concept is now funded by Road Safety Scotland (part of Transport Scotland) and gives visitors the opportunity to gain limitless amounts of Road Safety and other casualty reduction information in one visit.
The Village will host interactive activities for all ages to promote road safety. Featuring advice from in-car safety information including about child car seats to advice on how to avoid a speeding ticket, as well as an opportunity to meet road safety professionals.
Many agencies, police, fire, VOSA, DSA etc have come together to form this educational and interactive area. It will provide opportunities for a range of road safety agencies to not only demonstrate their individual roles, but also to show how they are working together to improve road safety in Scotland.
IRC will be demonstrating CPR and basic life support during talks and demonstrations throughout the event. The public will be able to have a go if they wish!
The Village is located at the south west corner of the Showground backing onto the A8 and Hallyards Road.
